Live at Agape Red: “Oops! I Broke My Site. Now What?”
Last night’s WP Omaha Meetup at Agape Red was well attended, filling Agape Red’s downtown 4th story loft office.
Amidst a large white wall sits a screen that is large in stature for any presentation viewer. Standing at the podium is Aaron Onken. He has been a Happiness Engineer with Flywheel, a managed WordPress host for over three years. During his talk, he gave a nicely pointed and organized presentation about the problems and errors that may occur while building and coding via WordPress.
Aaron touched upon subjects including Codex and Troubleshooting. Cache and all the different ways one can clear it answered many questions. Gaining this knowledge many about cache, was just one of the reason this trip was well worth the time and energy for the participants.
A few more items that Aaron covered in his talk included, Wp_Debug being your best friend, how to access 500/errors and htp access files. He also discussed more exciting ways to use Local as a prefered way to build WordPress sites on your desktop and much more.
As we wrapped up our discussion about many different ways to fix your and troubleshot a WordPress site of any kind, the personal conversations began. Members struck up conversations amongst peers about WordPress and finished of the pizza and drinks sponsored by Agape Red.
We look forward to move onto our new location at DoSpace that is more centrally located in Omaha, and will have plenty of space for us as we continue to grow our as a community.
Members also were reminded to mark their calendars for August’s WordCamp Omaha, and members of this Meetup are encouraged to spread the word and join the conversation. Keep an eye on our website for news and important posts about WP and our community.
